The demon Wishmaster steals the face (literally!) of a woman's
business lawyer, and proceeds to worm his way into her affections
by being Mister Niceguy. He tricks her into making three wishes:
gaining a substantial amount of money in compensation for
her partner's accident injuries, which left him paralysed
from the waist down, giving him back the use of his legs,
and...
Well,
the third wish is where the problem lies. When granted it
will open the way for the Djinn lurking behind the latticed
walls to enter this realm and cause havoc with their sweaty-looking
make-up. But the heroine has unwittingly created a paradox
by wishing for something only she can grant.
With
Wishmaster 4 you get exactly what you would expect:
a third-rate modern horror sequel with an instantly forgettable
villain. For anyone thinking of parting with their money,
don't open the (video) box, take the money.
What
next? Wishmaster 5, about the dyslexic devil worshipper
who sold his soul to Santa?
