There is unrest in the Galactic Senate. Several thousand solar systems have declared their intention to leave the Republic. This separatist movement, under the leadership of the mysterious Count Dooku, has made it difficult for the limited number of Jedi Knights to maintain peace and order in the galaxy...

Star Wars Attack of the Clones was a fairly good movie but how does it play as a game? There are 11 levels of play starting with the pretty simple Coruscant Rooftop, and progressing through other scenes lifted straight from the big screen.

The majority of the levels are of the scrolling platform game variety, but don't let that put you off if you are not a fan of this genre because there are also a few first person levels where you get to pilot some of the space vehicles from the movie.

The first thing that is noticeable about this game is that the music, John Williams wonderful score, is present and correct. Then, once the game gets underway the graphics are a wonder to behold.

There is a lot of attention to detail in the backgrounds, especially in the later levels, and this help to give the whole game a nice polished feel to it. However, take out the Star Wars characters and add a wizard or a knight and you have a game that you've seen a thousand times before.

Original this ain't. More a beautiful reworking of a much tried and tested formula.
