The Transformers robots war is coming to Earth and you must
make the choice between joining the Autobots in protecting
our planet or siding with the Decepticons as they attempt
to destroy it.
Experience the unstoppable power of your favourite robots
in disguise such as Optimus Prime, Megatron, Ironhide, Starscream,
BumbleBee, Barricade and others. Instantly change from a larger
than life robot to a high-powered vehicle such as a sports
car, fighter jet or helicopter. Crush, topple and wreck every
object, including buildings and vehicles, in you path or use
the objects as weapons. The fate of our planet is in your

feature film. Yes, games based on blockbuster movies don't
have a very reliable track record, so I can't be blamed for
expecting this to be a huge disappointment.
sad thing is that this game missed out on greatness by a hairsbreadth.
graphics are pretty impressive and the transforming from robot
to vehicle will send a chill of excitement down most Transformers
fans spines, but it grows tiresome very quickly.
the biggest problem with the game is the fact that it's split
into missions and if you fail in your quest you are transported
right back to the start of the mission - which can be a pig
if you've got to battle against several different enemies.
For example, in one sequence you have to beat up Barricade
and then race him to another area, beat him up again and race
him again... etc. It's a little frustrating to have to start
all over again each time he beats you.
fact, it was so frustrating, that on my first go I switched
the console off and waited a while before I came back to it.
If it wasn't for the fact that I had to review it, I probably
wouldn't have bothered playing any further.
weapons system is pretty pointless - and seemingly ineffective
against your enemies. After a while I ditched it altogether
and simply engaged the other Transformers in hand to hand
combat. Almost all of your environment can be destroyed -
from street lights to buildings - and a lot of items can be
picked up and used against your enemies.
kept hoping for a bit more freedom to explore the world that
the gamers had developed, but sadly none of the missions really
allow you to do this.
the end of the day the driving sections are not as good as
most other driving games and the combat segments are not as
good as other combat games - the end result is a disappointing
combination that doesn't work as well as it could. Oh, and
don't get me started on the problems with the camera - basically
it's the same old complaint that dogs so many games.
The Game will satisfy younger gamers who love the new
Transfomers movie, but will leave seasoned gamers more
than a tad disappointed.
