Hot on the heels of the critically acclaimed
Airbus A380 published in 2004 comes this newly enhanced FSX compatible version. And it's also every bit as exciting as flying the double-decker monster of an aeroplane at Mach .8...

This new version of the A380 Airbus add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator now includes four different models of the world's latest super jumbo. The Airbus A380 was designed to be the largest passenger aircraft ever right from the start. The newly designed Model 900 can be outfitted to carry an incredible 650 passengers up to 7800 miles.

A380 Airbus: The Special Edition allows you to climb into the cockpit and fly this huge and exciting aircraft. Flight sim developer, Tolga Piskin, has recreated four models of the Airbus A380 for this FSX and FS2004 package: the 700, 800, 800f and the 900. In addition, graphic artists Garry J Smith and Ed Knapp have carefully reproduced the many liveries of the A380 launch customers.

The game's onboard Flight Management Computer (FMC) makes this massive aeroplane easier to handle by literally flying your chosen route for you. Being exceptionally user-friendly, with just one click you can load a flight plan into the computer and the FMC is ready to go.

A380 Airbus: The Special Edition also includes enhanced scenery of Toulouse Airport, home town of the Airbus factory, replete with custom AI traffic. Including impressive attention to detail from the cockpit through to the landing gear.

Liveries included are: Airbus House Colours, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, Qantas, KLM, China Southern, Air France, Virgin Atlantic, Thai, British Airways and Korean Airlines.

If you already own the A380 Airbus release, you might like to take a look at this game before you part with your cash. You do get a nice collection of aircraft - four in total - and a great selection of different liveries to choose from. But you have to ask yourself whether these are worth £20.

Personally, I have to conclude that it is worth buying. The aircraft look great - especially the cockpits - and the engine sounds are nice and meaty. As with all new planes, they take a little getting used to, but if you are prepared to put in the hours you will be well rewarded.

If you are a dedicated Flight Sim fan, then you'll want to add this to your collection.
