Metroid Prime: Hunters is a first person shooter (FPS) that's packed with new characters, massive maps, powerful weapons and tons of tweak-able options. This game sees Samus pitted against six other bounty hunters. Once you meet each of the additional bounty hunters in the game's solo mission, that character is then unlocked as a playable character. Each bounty hunter has an exclusive weapon.

The controls are impressive too. The d-pad controls your movement, while the L button is used to fire your weapons. The stylus and touch screen work like a mouse. Move the stylus position to move your point of view and double tap to jump. The only slight problem with this configuration (and to be honest it's not a big deal) is that you may find yourself accidentally jumping.

The aim of the solo game is to head to the various worlds and collect the octolith pieces that you have been employed to track down. Then head back to your ship. The multi-player games allow you to defend areas, capture items, or go for plain and simple all out slaughter of the opposition.

This game is also the first Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection game to feature voice chat. This means that you can able to chat to your friends in the pre- and post-game lobby.

The graphics are impressive and the music rocks (in fact hard-core Metroid Prime gamers may recognise some very old game music in here - nice touch).

A great portable FPS that all Nintendo DS owners should add to their collection.
