Young Paul Atreides and his mother, the lady Jessica, find themselves stranded in the deep desert of Arrakis. Betrayed by one of their own and destroyed by their greatest enemy, Paul and Jessica must find the mysterious Fremen, or perish. This faithful adaptation of the 1965 novel, Dune, by Brian Herbert, son of Frank Herbert, and the New York Times bestselling author Kevin J. Anderson, continues to explore Paul’s journey as he evolves from boy to mysterious messiah...

Dune: The Graphic Novel, Book 2: Muad'dib is the second of three volumes adapting Frank Herbert’s Dune. Obviously, you really need to start with Book 1 in order to get the most out of this collection. While not a graphic novel for those who didn't enjoy the book, I'd argue that if you've tried to get into the book and have found it a little too heavy going then this graphic novel series helps to ease you into the universe. It's much easier to follow the story when you can actually see the locations. It will also give you a newfound respect for Herbert's original story - you may even discover things you had totally overlooked while reading the book.

As adaptations go, this is about as faithful to the original source material as you're likely to get. The artwork is beautifully presented - in short this is pretty much the perfect graphic novel and is certainly likely to become a cult classic revered by Herbert fans for years to come.

If you feel in love with Herbert's classic growing up, then treat yourself to this sumptuous series. It's like rediscovering a classic all over again.
