Featuring more than 25 projects pictured in full-colour photography, Star Wars: Knitting the Galaxy includes patterns for clothing, home projects, and toys inspired by Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Rey, and a whole host of droids, ships, and aliens from a galaxy far, far away. Projects range from simple patterns like the Ewok Hood (sized for both children and adults!) to more complex projects like the Darth Vader Pullover. It even includes patterns for knitted replicas of a few iconic costume pieces, such as Luke Skywalker’s cropped flight jacket from Episode IV: A New Hope and Rey’s waistcoat and arm warmers from The Last Jedi. With projects for knitters at all levels and a variety of techniques to practice - including stranded colourwork, double-knitting, and lace knitting - Star Wars: Knitting the Galaxy is the perfect book for knitters and film fans across the galaxy...

Star Wars: Knitting the Galaxy is the sort of book that a few years ago you'd buy, choose the projects you liked and then pass these onto your grandma or aged aunt to keep them busy over the winter nights. But with knitting becoming fashionable again amongst the younger generation it means you shouldn't have any problem finding people wanting to test out their skills with a new project.

Whilst the book proudly boasts that it has projects for knitters at all levels, I've been reliably informed by a knitter, that this is not the book for someone who is new to knitting. If you thought you'd buy this book and then learn to knit, you'll be in for a bit of a shock.

The book itself is packed to bursting with 27 fun, novelty and practical projects from toys, clothes and home decor. There are even four costume replica patterns to tackle. But you probably won't be surprised to discover that those good old standards (hat, scarf and mittens) make up quite a few of the projects and seeing how the patterns are designed means that a more confident knitter should be able to come up with their own patterns.

It's a beautifully presented book with plenty of projects to keep you busy. There's certainly something for everyone here. Personally, not being a fan of the later movies, there were a lot of items that didn't interested me. But there's still plenty of projects from the original trilogy and it's good to see that the book caters for all fan groups.
