Stranger Things
A Netflix Original Series
Volume Two

Composer: Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein
Label: Lakeshore Records
RRP: £13.99
Release Date: 23 September 2016

Lakeshore Records release Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein electronic score for Stranger Things. The show is set in 1983 Indiana where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl...

If you're a fan of experimental synth quartet Survive, then you're going to love what band members Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein deliver here. If you're not a fan of electronic music then this may take a little while to warm to. If you've already picked up Volume One, then you'll already know what to expect.

I have to be honest, and admit that I can't fathom why on earth two volumes of music have been released for this series. It all tends to blur into one electronic mix and I couldn't pick out any themes or segments that were memorable or worth listening to again. Like the first volume, I listened to the score for almost a week and still feel like I'm no closer to understanding or appreciating it.

Volume 2 contains 39 tracks (1 hr, 13 min, 17 sec) and while it no doubt helps to give support to the onscreen action, I found it fell flat when listened to on its own merits.
